Young Person Counselling (13+)
Service Description
I offer a pluralistic approach to counselling, which simply means I don’t believe in a "one size fits all" solution. You are the expert on your own life, so we work as a team to build a therapy experience that fits your personality, your goals, and your pace. How We Work Together: Rather than sticking to one rigid method, I draw from a variety of therapeutic "tools." This might include practical coping strategies (CBT) to help with daily stress, or deeper emotional exploration to understand why you feel the way you do. We will regularly check in to make sure our sessions are focusing on what actually matters to you. What to Expect: Our first session involves going through confidentiality and a counselling contract. This is just to make sure you feel safe and understand that what you share stays between us (unless there is a risk of harm). No Pressure, No Rush: I don’t offer a fixed or limited number of sessions. Therapy can be short-term for a specific hurdle or long-term for deeper support—the choice is yours, and we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Beyond Just Talking: I know that sitting and talking about personal things can feel intense or even awkward. That’s why I offer different ways to express yourself. Creative Tools: You’re welcome to use art supplies, painting, or drawing. Sometimes, "doing" something makes it much easier to say what’s on your mind. Therapeutic Games: I use specific games that are designed to be fun but also provide a low-pressure way to explore worries, anxiety, and big emotions. Total Choice: You decide how we spend the time. If you just want to talk, we talk. If you want to use the tools, they are there for you. If you book 3 sessions in advance a discounted rate of £145 will apply
